In the black mavericks install, all the components are detected the way they should, but sound doesnt work at all. The pics with the black menubar and black dock are mavericks as well, where i have been trying all your suggestions, and where it detects iphone headset, and sound doesnt work at all with the dummy kext. Press and hold Option, then choose Apple menu > System Information. (You may need to scroll down.) Click Output on the right, then make sure the external USB speakers are selected. You can notice a big difference in terms of naming. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Sound in the sidebar. This is system info in my other install of mavericks, where sound works with mirone's patch applehda Do you know why my audio doesnt work now? After removing patched AppleHDA, putting the vanilla one and the dummy kext, cleaned nvram, rebuilt cache, changed to the config plist you gave me. I think we are much closer to solving this. In system report though something new comes up, and it describes my hardware better. Ok man! Using everything you said, it gets detected different than before, but now there is no sound whatsoever, and in sound preferences 0 choices.
